The book is about how our family members were devastated,
experienced our grief, picked ourselves up and began to cope
in our own individual ways. It is about individual as well as
family grief. I hope that others will see parallels in their own
grief trajectory. I hope, also, that it will help people who are
suffering serious bereavement of any type, be it the loss of a
child, parent, sibling, or someone close to them. Loss is
painful, the feelings are the same for the survivors, but the
loss of a child has a special dimension. In reading this book,
my hope for bereaved people is that their tears are for their
own loss and not for ours. We have trodden that painful path
and people wept with us long ago when we needed such tears.
